Nervous, High Heart Rate, Need to Relax

by Mary E Brown

I get very nervous when i go to the doctor...my heart rate goes up and when i am ready to leave it comes down. I am trying to find a medium to help me relax. I have no health problems . My average blood pressure is 131 over 78 my pulse is between 80 and 95. The doctor is suggesting a pill to help lower the heart rate but i would like to do it naturally.

I am 5feet 1 inch and weigh about 143lbs. I am 54 years old. I exercise about 3 to 5 days a week for about 25 minutes.I am not a big meat eater, i eat a lot of vegetables and chicken and fish. I eat yogurt and recently starting to eat more foods that offer magnesium. Please advise what i might do to lessen the heart beat. thank you

Matthew's reply: Hi Mary, thanks for contacting me. Two self-help techniques that may help you are acupressure and breathing exercises. Try them for a week or so and see how you feel. Let me know how you get on as there are other techniques you can try too for nervousness, rapid heart rate, etc.

All the best,

Matthew
