Exercises To Stretch My Back In The Morning

by Wes
(Brazil)

I am 40. What kind of exercises should I do in the morning to stretch my back?

Matthew's reply: Hi Wes, there are many simple back stretching exercises on this site. Take a look and choose a couple that seem to match your situation. A couple of very good exercises for the back are the Back Twist, Back Arch and Forward Backward Bend. You can access these via the above link.

There are other back exercises there too, depending on which part of your back you want to target. The Lumbar Rub, for example, is excellent for lower back pain.

When stretching, particularly first thing in the morning, you will need to warm up first. Be careful if you have a back problem - never force an exercise, especially if your muscles are tight and if you are learning a new exercise.

See how you go over the next week or two. If you have any questions about the back stretching exercises or other exercises on this site just post below.

All the best,

Matthew
