Exercises For Improving Eyesight

by Jeevarani
(South Africa)

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for the enlightening information available on this website. Please may i ask about the above problem. Is there anything that can assist with eye problems for adults over 60 years old?

Many thanks,

Jeevarani

Matthew's reply: Hi Jeevarani, thanks for your comment about the site. You may have already seen in the Face section there are a number of eye exercises. These are basically self-massage techniques and they are very useful for stopping sore, tired eyes due to excess reading, colds, flu, headaches, etc.

If you do them daily you can prevent sore, tired eyes too, especially if you need to use your eyes a lot in work or other situations. Here in China it is common for students to do eye exercises daily in class to prevent eye strain from studying.

However, I cannot say if these eye exercises will improve eyesight in your particular case. They are safe and easy to do though so I would definitely give them a try.

Another option for improving eyesight is Chinese herbal medicine which can address certain imbalances leading to poor eyesight.
