Black Sesame for Constipation - Indian Experience
by: sayee

In south India, they make an eatable kind of black sesame. It is in the form of small balls of the size of lemon. They advise you not to consume it in excess as it would result in diarrhea. Naturally, this is a laxative in Chinese Medicine.

Matthew's reply: Hi Sayee, thanks for posting. Yes, it is important not to eat too much of the black sesame constipation remedy as it can have the opposite effect. Constipation is, for most people, a problem that has built up over years of poor diet, bad lifestyle habits and emotional imbalances, so it is unrealistic to expect an overnight cure from any remedy. Any remedy for constipation needs to be taken in an appropriate dose for each person, usually at night and/or first thing each morning. And of course diet, lifestyle and emotional imbalances need to be addressed too.

All the best,

Matthew
