Abs and Stomach Massage

Mr. Matthew Scott,

I read your entire page on the Abs and Stomach Massage technique and I'm not clear on one thing. In what direction do you rub the circles on your abdomen for diarrhea and for constipation? On your page, for one you say anti-clockwise and for the other you say counter-clockwise. Don't those both mean the same thing?
My father is suffering from terminal liver cancer and he is taking medication that gives him painful diarrhea. Nothing so far has helped to relieve this, so I wanted to try your Ab Massage. Which way do I rub his abdomen to relieve his diarrhea? Do I massage around his belly button first and then slowly make wider circles?

Matthew's reply:

Hi Dawn, for constipation rub in clockwise circles around the belly button, following the path of the colon. Start with small circles and gradually make them wider, using as much pressure as is comfortable. Rub in anticlockwise circles for diarrhea.

I can't say that this technique will benefit your father but it's very safe - just be sure not to press and rub beyond his comfort zone.

All the best and sorry for the confusion.

Matthew

Belly Fat Massage

by Tappie
(Middlesbrough)

Hi there, is there a belly massage technique that you can tell me, or is there a massage where someone massages my belly to reduce belly fat? Thanks

Matthew's reply: Hi Tappie, in the Abdominals section of this site there's an Abs and Stomach Massage technique you can do on yourself or do on someone else.

It's not specifically for reducing excess belly fat, although it will improve digestion and energy levels if you do it daily. Here in China, after meal times, it's very common to see people walking and rubbing their abdomen at the same time to facilitate digestion.

To get rid of excess belly fat you'll still need to do some form of physical exercise several times a week and follow a suitable diet. If you have more questions or comments feel free to post them. All the best.

Reply by Anonymous: Hi, yes, there is a special belly fat massage. It is common in Europe. It is performed by trained specialists and is a bit painful (but you sort of get used to it, it was more painful the first time). It works well. It does not make your belly completely flat, but I definitely saw improvement. It became much tighter. I don't know if they do it here.

Abdominal Massage Video

Can you possibly put up a video of the abs massage?

Matthew's reply: Thanks for asking. Abdominal massage is shown on video in the Long Life Exercise Program.

In addition to abdominal massage there are a range of exercises and techniques for strength, toning, flexibility, energy and overall better health.

It is an online video program that can also be saved for offline viewing.

Any questions about the program or abdominal massage just post below.
