Anxiety and Panic Attacks

by Marie Scott
(United Kingdom)

What areas do i start to do when in an anxiety state or panic attack?

Matthew's reply: Hi Marie, in my experience one of the best things you can do as soon as you start to feel anxious is SLOW DEEP BREATHING. I recommend you learn these breathing and acupressure techniques. There are other techniques in the Anxiety-Stress section that you should look at too.

Prevention is the key, though, so try to incorporate breathing and acupressure techniques into your daily life to, hopefully, stop further anxiety and panic attacks. Don't wait till you get another anxiety or panic attack to try the above techniques!

If you find after a few weeks of daily breathing exercises and acupressure that there doesn't seem to be much change I also recommend Chinese herbal medicine for anxiety and panic attacks. For this, though, you would need to consult face to face with a Chinese medicine practitioner.

Let me know if you have any questions.

All the best,

Matthew
