Allergies and Chinese Medicine

I have been dealing with severe allergies since I first got my period 12 years ago.

I get terrible rashes when I exercise on my legs, I am allergic to cats, wine, dust, and flour and wheat products and I am stuffy basically all of the time. My allergies have even lead to "asthma" diagnosed, but I don't believe it's asthma. I believe its just post nasal drip into my lungs due to my allergies.

My digestion isn't the best to begin with and I am not sure if they are related, but I think they might be.My allergies are worse when I am not digesting well.

I use my netti pot every morning to cleanse my sinuses naturally, it helps a bit, for a few hours.

I have used homeopathy all of my life and I hate to used drugs. However my allergies prevent me from functioning on a daily basis.
I am now taking allegra-D 24 hour once daily and Advair for the "asthma" and they are helping a bunch. I would like to not just medicate the problem but really get to the issue behind the allergies.

Can you please help?

Matthew's reply: Hi, I suggest you consult directly with a Chinese herbal medicine practitioner. Chinese herbal medicine is typically very good for allergies and the other problems you mention. A Chinese herbalist will also be able to advise you on the best diet for your particular body type and current state of health, as well as appropriate lifestyle advice. If you don't know where to find a Chinese herbal medicine practitioner try www.acufinder.com.

Any further questions or comments about allergies and Chinese medicine just post below.

All the best,

Matthew
