Acupressure For Tics
Where are the acupressure points to relieve motor and vocal tics?
Matthew's reply: Hi Danielle, thanks for your question. Actually, rather than trying acupressure for tic disorders I suggest you seek out an acupuncturist. While acupressure is great for many kinds of health problems, acupuncture is typically a more powerful method.
Look for an acupuncturist who uses Acugraph diagnostic equipment. This is a high-tech, very accurate way to see where the imbalances are in the body.
Generally, in traditional Chinese medicine (of which acupuncture is a part) disorders characterized by tics or twitches involve imbalances related to the liver and kidneys, but quite possibly other organs too. Remember, I am saying this from a CHINESE medical viewpoint, not Western medical.
Apart from acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine may be useful too. Often acupuncturists prescribe Chinese herbal medicine, as well as give dietary advice, which may also help.
So, if you haven't already, my best suggestion for tics, twitches, etc, is to try acupuncture, and preferably by a practitioner who uses the Acugraph diagnostic equipment. I would also, if you haven't already, get a Western medical check to see what's going on from that viewpoint.
All the best,
