Acupressure for Body, Mind, Spirit by: Matthew Scott
Hi, thanks for your question about acupressure techniques in my holistic health and exercise programs. There are 3 acupressure points in the Chinese Long Life Exercise Program, and another 5 acupressure points in the programs for Sleep, Headaches, Colds and Neck.
These 8 acupressure points are VERY commonly used in acupuncture and acupressure for improving overall physical, mental and emotional health AND for treating common health complaints like headache, insomnia and the common cold.
In addition to acupressure, the programs contain 6 self-massage techniques - 3 for face and head problems like headache and blocked nose; 1 for stiff neck and shoulders, 1 for the lower back and kidneys and 1 for the abdomen. Like acupressure, self-massage is a simple yet highly beneficial way to improve and maintain good health - physically, mentally and emotionally.
If you ever come to China you'll see people in parks EVERYday tapping, slapping and pressing acupressure points on their body and doing self-massage - along with stretching, strengthening and breathing exercises as part of their daily exercise workout.
Regarding wheelchair use in China, sorry I have no reliable knowledge of this.
Any further questions about the acupressure, self-massage techniques or exercises in the Long Life Exercise Program or other programs please post them.
