Use Your Mental Power For Better Health

This week's tip is about using the power of your mind to improve your health. If you are having trouble focusing or concentrating on something, like at work, try this:

Close your eyes and use the tips of your middle fingers to rub in circles around your eyes. Begin with your fingers on the start of your eyebrows near your nose and go with the grain of your eyebrow hairs out to side of your face, down over your temples and below your eyes and up again. Keep rubbing in slow, smooth circles around your closed eyes while saying out loud or quietly to yourself an affirmation such as: "Even though I can't focus on (my task) I choose to let this help me".

Whatever your task is you must state it very specifically, e.g. "Even though I can't focus on writing this weekly sales report for Susan I choose to let this help me".

Do this technique for a minute or more anytime you feel the need. Around your eyes are a number of important acupressure points that calm your mind, clear your head and sooth your eyes. Rubbing these points while saying a situation-specific affirmation works powerfully. I use this method regularly.

By the way, you can use it for any situation really, e.g. "Even though I feel nervous about going to the dentist today I choose to let this help me". Just be sure to state your situation as specifically as you can, using words that feel right for you.
