Here's a very quick, but important, tip on mental health.
According to traditional Chinese longevity principles, one way to keep good mental health and slow the decline of old age is to play games that are fun, relaxing and mentally challenging.
There are lots of traditional Chinese games similar to chess and checkers and tile games like majiang - all of which are popular here.
While playing chess etc may not be your idea of fun there are lots of other games you can play for fun as well as relaxation and mental stimulation. Think of all the board games available now, plus there's cards, crossword puzzles etc.
I like to do crossword puzzles and lately have been playing darts a couple of times a week. For me darts is great fun, it's very relaxing and the mental work involved with calculating scores can definitely be challenging.
There's a short article on playing mentally challenging games on my exercise site.
Read it here.
