Back Stretching Exercises

Just about everyone has had back pain at some point in their life. I sure have. It's the reason I got into Chinese medicine 22 years ago. I've learned many back exercises over the years - some I do when I have back pain and some are for preventing back pain.

All the back exercises I know and do myself are simple to learn and do not require any equipment - just somewhere to stand, sit or lie down.

My particular back problem is in my lower back and involves the area from my L5 vertebra to my sacrum.

When my back starts aching from sitting too much at my computer I immediately stop and spend about 10 minutes relaxing and stretching my lower back and hips. If YOU also get lower back pain from excessive sitting or other activities it's important to take regular breaks from what you are doing to stretch and relieve the tension in your back, hips and legs.

There are many exercises on my website for doing this. Some are for your neck and upper back, some for your lower back and hips. Some loosen and stretch your entire spine from the base of your skull to the tip of your sacrum. All are easy to do and they work.

Several very easy and highly effective exercises to stop lower back pain can be done squatting, sitting or lying down. If you get lower back pain that also involves your hips and sacrum I recommend you try them.
